Which devices support eSIM

eSIM is the future of our world, because it means no plastic SIM cards, no trips to the shop, and no waiting in line.

But before you purchase a GlobalGo Mobile eSIM, it’s important to make sure your device supports eSIM and that it's carrier-unlocked.

This list is regularly updated as more eSIM-compatible phones are released. Keep in mind that some models vary by region, and eSIM support may depend on where the phone was purchased.

Check before you buy:

  1.  Is your phone eSIM-compatible?
  2.  Is your phone carrier-unlocked?

 Some phones from specific countries or carriers may not support eSIM, even if the model normally does.

Compatible iPhones:

Apple (iPhone & iPad) Compatible Models Include:

  • iPhone 15 series (15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max)
  • iPhone 14 series
  • iPhone 13 series
  • iPhone 12 series
  • iPhone 11 series
  • iPhone SE (2020, 2022)
  • iPhone XR, XS, XS Max

Note. Not compatible Apple (iPhone & iPad) Restrictions:

  • iPhones sold in mainland China do not support eSIM.
  • Some models from Hong Kong and Macao also do not support eSIM (except iPhone 13/12 mini, SE 2020, and XS).
  • Devices made in Turkey may require a factory reset to enable eSIM. 

Note: iPads must have cellular capability to support eSIM.

Samsung Compatible Models Include:

  • Galaxy S20 to S24 series (except some US/South Korean versions)
  • Galaxy Z Fold & Flip series (Fold2 → Fold5, Flip → Flip5)
  • Galaxy Note20 series
  • Galaxy A54, A55, A35
  • Galaxy XCover7

Note. Not compatible Samsung Restrictions:

  •  Models from China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan are not eSIM-capable.
  •  Most Fan Edition (FE) devices are not compatible except S23 FE.
  • US and South Korean versions may lack eSIM support unless specified.

Google PixelCompatible Models:

  • Pixel 2 → Pixel 8 series
  • Pixel Fold
  • Pixel A-series (e.g., 4a, 5a, 6a, 7a, 8a)

Note. Not compatible Google Pixel Restrictions:

  • Some Pixel 3 and 3a models from Australia, Taiwan, Japan, or Southeast Asia do not support eSIM.
  • Pixel 3/3a bought with Verizon (US) may be restricted. 

Huawei Compatible Models:

  • Huawei P40, P40 4G, P40 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 40 Pro

Not compatible Huawei: P40 Pro+ and P50 Pro

Sony Compatible Models:

  • Sony Xperia 5 V
  • Sony Xperia 5 IV
  • Sony Xperia 10 IV
  • Sony Xperia 10 III Lite

Note: eSIM on Xperia 10 IV is available only in Europe.

Final Tips

  • Not all phones sold under the same model name are the same!
  • Always check your phone’s region and carrier before buying an eSIM.
  • The safest way to confirm is by checking directly with your device manufacturer or your carrier.
  • Your phone must be carrier-unlocked and updated to the latest software to ensure full eSIM compatibility.
